New Occupation Ceiling for the Australia Immigration

Australian Government Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) has introduced new Occupation ceiling for the 2016-17 programme year which will be effective from 1st July 2016.

This occupation ceiling is applied to those who want to migrate to Australia under general skilled migration programme which is run by Australian Government Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP). To safeguard the interest of all prospective candidates they set the limit on issuing the invitation to the particulars occupation. As a result of this, invitation is not fill only few occupations under their programme. Candidates also get the benefits under State or Territory Nominated, Employer Sponsored or Business Innovation and Investment visa subclasses as occupation ceiling is not apply under this migration programme.

*The occupation ceiling for Accountants was set at two and half per cent for the 2015-16 programme year, a further reduced ceiling of two and a half per cent will apply for the 2016-2017 programme year.

The occupation ceiling for Chefs was set at three percent for the 2015-16 programme year, a further reduced ceiling of three per cent will apply for the 2016-2017 programme year.
