SRM UNIVERSITY
SRM University was founded in the year 1985 as SRM Engineering college in Kattankulathur, under Anna University. The university now has four campuses in TamilNadu (Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Vadapalani and Trichy), one in ModiNagar, near Delhi. The institute gained deemed status in the academic year 2003-04, and was renamed SRM Institute of Science and Technology and subsequently, SRM University in 2006 when it attained the status of a full-fledged university, under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956.
HINDUSTAN UNIVERSITY
Hindustan College of Engineering, established in the year 1985, has been conferred the "University Status" by UGC, Government of India Under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956 with the name "HINDUSTAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY & SCIENCE" from the academic year 2008 - 09.

BHARATH UNIVERSITY
Bharath University was established in 1984. The institute was awarded the deemed university status in 2003 and hence the name was changed to Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research. In September 2006, it was renamed as Bharath University as per a new decree issued by the UGC enabling deemed universities to change their name to "university".

SATHYBAMA UNIVERSITY
Sathyabama University is a private university founded in 1988 as Sathyabama Engineering College by JeppiaarEducational Trust. It was formerly known as Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology. The University is headed by Dr. Jeppiaar, a former politician.The Ministry of Human Resource And Development declared the college as 'Deemed University' on 16 July 2001 and as 'University' on 13 September 2006, under section 3 of UGC act.
