Gorakhpur is a district headquarters of Uttar Pradesh, located at 83.4 degrees east latitude and 26.8 degrees north longitude. It is situated between the Rapti and Reti rivers and is surrounded by fertile wheat fields and dense sal forest, with temperatures ranging from 2 degrees Celsius to 49 degrees Celsius.
Gorakhpur has its own cultural and historical importance. It belongs to the Great Lord Buddha, founder of Buddhism, who renounced his princely costumes at the confluence of rivers Rapti & Rohini and proceeded further in the quest of truth in 600 BC .
