The Open Basic Education programme is being implemented by National Institute of Open

Schooling (NIOS) with the aim of providing primary and upper primary level education through

alternate means of open schooling to those who are not able to go to a formal school or have

dropped out of school.

10th, 12th failed student guaranteed pass
Eligibility for admission ( As per NIOS )

Certificate for SC/ST (in case of SC/ST),
Photocopy of Mark sheet of Class X Board Examination (in case of Sr. Sec.), - not applicable for Stream 3 & 4
Certificate from the Employer for Ex-Servicemen,
Certificate from a Government Hospital for a handicapped person
Original failure/compartment Mark sheet of
class X or XII for admission and TOC
