Madikeri is a hill town in southern India. Framed by the Western Ghats mountain range, it’s known for the Raja’s Seat, a simple monument overlooking forests and rice paddies. In the center, the 17th-century Madikeri Fort features 2 stone elephants at the entrance. Nearby, the domed Omkareshwar Temple is dedicated to the Hindu deity Shiva. To the northwest, cascading Abbey Falls is surrounded by spice plantations.
It is famous for its coffee plantations, steep hills, countless streams, rich flora & fauna, lush forests and breathtaking views. Some of the must visit tourist attractions of Coorg include Nagarhole National Park, Abbi Falls, Iruppu Falls, The Raja's Seat, Madikeri Fort and Tibetan Buddhist Golden Temple.
With the temperature ranging between 15 degree Celcius and 20 degree Celcius throughout the year, Coorg is a year-round destination. That said, October to March is the best time for adventure activities especially trekking. March and April are the favoured months to experience the valley shrouded in white flowers.
