The CMR Jnanadhara Trust established in 1991 as a tribute to the late Sri Chikka Muniyappa Reddy, a great visionary and philanthropist who believed that every individual deserves access to a quality education. In accordance with this vision, the CMR educational institutes were founded, to give every student a chance at an outstanding, value-based and well-rounded education. The CMR Group is a unique educational conglomerate, which comprises twelve Higher Education institutions, three schools, a Pre-University College, and various Centers of Excellence in Research. Eligibility Criteria +++++
Admission to undergraduate programmes in engineering shall be open to candidates who have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th standard or equivalent examination in Physics and Mathematics subjects along with Chemistry / Electronics / Biology / Biotechnology / Computer Science as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study. Students must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (40% for SC/ST/OBC) in PCM. The candidate must have also written any one of the following entrance exams: CET/ COMED-K / JEE / AIEEE. The rank card has to be produced.
For Diploma Holders +++
Diploma Holders in engineering with a minimum of 50% marks in the final examination, conducted by the Board of Technical Examination, Government of Karnataka or its equivalent, are eligible for admission to the corresponding branch of Second Year engineering. Candidates must take the Common Entrance Test (DCET) for Diploma students conducted by the CET Cell, Govt. of Karnataka. Seats will be allotted during the centralized counseling process conducted by the CET Cell.
For NRI & Foreign students +++++++++
Admission to undergraduate programmes in engineering shall be open to NRI / Foreign candidates who have passed 12th standard or equivalent examination recognized by AIU with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Electronics / Biology / Biotechnology / Computer Science as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study. Students must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in PCM.

Common Entrance Test (CET) and Selection Process
The Government of Karnataka conducts a Common Entrance Test (CET) through the Karnataka Examination Authority. This entrance exam is a gateway to obtaining an engineering seat through the Government quota. The CET conducts the examination in four subjects namely Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. Candidates who wish to seek admission in engineering courses should appear for the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics exams. Students are offered a choice of colleges based on their CET ranking at the time of CET counseling, and can choose CMRIT at the time of CET counseling. COMEDK and Selection Process
The Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association namely Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka , COMEDK also conducts entrance examinations for all students irrespective of state. After the COMEDK entrance test is administered and the test scores and rank lists have been published, centralized counseling will be conducted. Students are given the option of selecting the college of their choice during COMEDK counseling, and can choose CMRIT at this time. For more information, you may visit: www.comedk.org
Management Admission Process
Admission through this process is open to both Karnataka and non-Karnataka students. Candidates must fill in the registration form. This is to be done at the CMRIT College Campus.

Once the seat has been confirmed, candidates may fill out the application form and submit it along with the documents specified below.

The Career Guidance and Placement Bureau at CMRIT plays a pivotal role in preparing students their personal and professional life college. Set up in 2000, the Career Guidance and Placement Bureau functions across all academic departments and offers placement assistance.
We put forward a variety of student-centric services as a single window point for career counselling and development in the engineering & technology fields which complement classroom learning and prepare students for careers in industry, entrepreneurship, research or further study.
We work personally with our industry cohorts to apprise ourselves of their project requirements, needs and expectations for the campus hiring process, and then pore over to find students who best match the requirements of the placement opportunities through on/off campus hiring, internships or projects.
The Entrepreneurship Development Cell proffers programmes and platforms for those students who are involved in entrepreneurship. The Maker Space at CMRIT acts as a facilitator for students by helping uncover their hidden potential. It is a dedicated space for students and staff, where prospects explore new technologies and fresh methodologies, ensuring their growth into proficient thinkers, makers and innovators of current times. The Maker Space also lends a hand to students with coaching and access to external partners and alumni.
The Centre of Excellence offers students a way in to the on-campus Centre of Excellence (CoE), shaped through CMRIT s industry affiliation. Through these centres, students can complete projects through the use of the most recent technologies. The CMRIT faculty is qualified in these areas, and support student initiatives through project mentorship and direction.
CMRIT is also engaged with the CMR Life Skills Institute that recommends a number of training programmes for progression of soft skills such as communication and presentation ability, email and business etiquette, body language improvement, teamwork and other enrichment methods.

Placement Process
Each year, we invite our industry partners and other reputed organizations to the college campus to participate in the placement process for both Undergraduate (6th Semester) and Postgraduate (3rd Semester) programmes. Each student receives placement guidelines and rules from the placements office and must adhere to the process.
Visiting companies on-campus/off-campus will interact with the eligible students directly during pre-placement talks (PPT). During these sessions, they will provide overviews of the job profiles, job descriptions, compensation, company s expectations and other specific requirements.
Students will participate in the interview process specific to the visiting company (Example: Written test(s) / Group Discussion(s) / Presentations / Technical Interviews / Personal Interviews). Shortlisted students will be notified if they receive an offer.
Students should remain in constant touch with the placements office even after receiving an offer. Faculty placement co-ordinators and companies will ensure that post-offer criteria and requirements are adhered to.
What are the expectations from students?
Eligible students from various departments in both Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs, who are participating in the placements process, are expected to adhere to the placement rules and guidelines. Students will receive a hardcopy of these guidelines. The placement process commences before the start of the placement season.
