Demodex Vs Alopecia

Alopecia is an autoimmune condition of hair loss that occurs in one or multiple areas of the scalp, face, and/or body. Androgenic alopecia (AGA) is a genetic condition of hair loss that can occur in both men and women. As it is an inherited hair loss issue, Demodex mites do not cause androgenic alopecia but chemicals produced by these mites may trigger inflammatory reactions that can affect the hair follicles further and worsen the condition.
