DIRECT ADMISSION IN VIT VELLORE THROUGH MANAGEMENT QUOTA

Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is a prestigious university in India that offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. EXAM CONDUCT BY VITEE

Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes in VIT group of Institutions. VITEEE will be conducted between 15 and 21 April 2023 (Tentative) at designated centres across India and abroad. The duration of the examination will be 2 hours and 30 minutes. Candidates can appear only once for VITEEE. All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions and one mark for right and 0 for the wrong answer. There will be a total of 125 questions divided into the section Maths/Biology (40 questions), Physics (35 questions), Chemistry (35 quesons), Aptitude (10 questions), and English (5 questions). The question paper will be in English only.

The following factors shall play the determining role according to which the VITEEE 2023 cutoff marks shall be decided:

The difficulty level of the VITEEE examination.

Number of candidates who appeared in the exam.

Previous year VITEEE cutoff trends for BTech.

Total number of seats on which admissions are offered in VIT.

Important Facts related to VITEEE Cutoff 2023

The authorities have not released the cutoff marks of VITEEE for the past sessions.

However this year, the Vellore Institute of Technology may release the VITEEE 2023 cutoff marks reflecting the bar to be crossed to ensure admission.

Referring to the previous VITEEE cutoff will give candidates an idea of their chances of admission in VIT B.Tech courses.

The authorities shall release VITEEE 2023 cutoff separately for each stream of engineering, higher and lower based on candidate choices.

Eligibility & Selection Criteria

NATIONALITY

The applicant should be a Resident / Non-Resident Indian National / PIO/OCI.

NRI applicants can directly apply under NRI Category through NRI application form.

Foreign applicants who studied/studying abroad can apply directly through the International application form.

AGE LIMIT

Applicants whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 2001 are eligible to apply for Engineering admission 2023.

The date of birth as recorded in the High School / SSC / X Certificate will be considered authentic.

Applicants should produce this certificate in original as proof of their age at the time of counseling/admission, failing which their candidacy for admission will be disqualified.

QUALIFYING EXAMINATION

Applicants applying for UG Engineering admission should have either completed or shall be appearing in 2023, in any one of the following qualifying examinations:

The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board; Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), New Delhi.

Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.

High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva. (Physics & Mathematics - HL, Chemistry - SL)

General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Srilanka) at the Advanced (A) level.

Regular 'NIOS' board candidates are also eligible for Undergraduate Engineering programmes. Applicants should produce the Migration cum Transfer Certificate at the time of joining.

QUALIFYING EXAMINATION PERFORMANCE

PCMB/PCM applicants who have attempted Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and Aptitude in VITEEE 2023 are eligible for all B. Tech Programmes.

PCMB/PCB/PCM applicants who have attempted Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and Aptitude in VITEEE 2023 & PCB applicants who have attempted Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and Aptitude in VITEEE 2023 are eligible only for the following programmes only

B.Tech. Biotechnology (VIT, Vellore)

oB.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering (Bioinformatics - VIT, Vellore)

B.Tech. Electronics and Communication Engineering (Biomedical Engineering - VIT, Vellore)

B.Tech. Bioengineering (VIT-Bhopal)

B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering (Specialization in Health Informatics - VIT, Bhopal)

The selection of subjects (MPCEA / BPCEA) should be mentioned in application form.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Selection is based on the rank secured through CBT (Computer Based Test) VITEEE 2023.

Selected applicants can participate in online counseling based on their ranking. They can give options for specific campus, programme and category of fees. Allotment will be based on the matching of the rank obtained and available options.

Applicants with rank upto 1 Lakh are eligible for counselling to Vellore and Chennai campus.

VIT will verify the eligibility of candidates after completing the tuition fee payment on or before the stipulated date. Applicants are required to produce documents on the day of coming to the campus or as and when asked for, by the Office of Admissions. Provisional Admission offered during counseling will be valid ONLY if the eligibility is fulfilled.

In case of situation wherein the eligibility criteria is not applicable, the decision of the VIT will be final.
