About SJCC

St. Joseph s College of Commerce (SJCC), formerly a part of St. Joseph s College, established in the year 1882, is managed by the Bangalore Jesuit Educational Society (BJES). The BJES is a unit of a Catholic religious order called the Society of Jesus, founded by St. Ignatius of Loyola in 1540. The Department of Commerce was established at St. Joseph s College in the year 1949, which later became an independent college with its building on Brigade Road in the year 1972.

The college was graded an A grade in the years 2007 and 2012. And recently, in February 2021, the college was re-accredited with an A++ grade and a CGPA of 3.57/4. SJCC is one of the first colleges in Karnataka and the very few institutions in the country to have secured an A++ grade in the fourth cycle under the Revised Accreditation Framework (RAF).
