I am a music teacher with over 30 years of playing and 20 years of teaching experience. I am now offering private lessons at my residence for those interested in learning western music. I teach a proven international graded method of western music for ACOUSTIC guitar and a meticulously developed course for electric guitar with a special focus on Blues, Rock and Heavy Metal.
I have a two student per batch system that gives a high level of individual focus and face time. Seats are limited and offered on a first come first served basis.
Please read through my teaching methodology before soliciting an inquiry. It is important you understand the whole process of music education before making any commitments.
Music is a meticulous subject like academics, sports or vocational training. It requires a LONG TERM investment of time, money, energy and above all HONESTY if you want to be successful at it. Performing art skills cannot grow over night or even over 6 months and hence do not be under the impression that music teachers carry a magic wand and a bag of shortcuts. The general perception of beginners and music enthusiast is that more efforts are required only if you wish to become a professional musician and hence they tend to believe that learning can be graded into amateur and professional levels. This is a myth, because the subject of music, its fundamentals and its dynamics are not what determine the level of professionalism. It is their manifestation as your trade skill and the continuous improvement that you need to make in order to sustain it as your professional forte. The subject and its intensity is equal for an amateur or professional. Amateurs and professional are also separated by one vital factor and thats getting COMPENSATED for their skills. I as a music teacher am a professional because I choose to monetize my knowledge.
Playing guitar is a performing art and it will stress your body and brain in more ways than you could have imagined. Being good in academics, sports or other cultural activities is in no way a means to measure, estimate or guarantee your success in learning music. But if you are passionate about other subjects, then you have a better chance of learning. Performing arts is a complicated subject as they involve the development of multiple sensory and motor capabilities. It very often involves unlearning habitual reflexes and developing new ones in order to get the desired results. The time a student takes to master skills is directly proportional to the practice time, strategic development of sensory and motor skills and an intense love for the subject. However the good news is that I, as your teacher am living proof of how it can be done and am here to share my knowledge and experience. I am a regular person like anyone else and have spent the last 30 years playing and 20 years teaching music / performing onstage while I work a regular day time corporate job. This is not a hobby class or a fix for idle time if you thought of it as one. You will not only learn a new skill but also develop your overall perception and knowledge of the subject through appreciation.
