_ On surfaces where there is little or no oil, Demodex dies of starvation after a few hours. But in greasy environments such as combs, towels, and pillowcases - the things on which Demodex is usually found - they last for several days at room temperature.

_ To prevent this re-transfer, wash your personal items regularly, and do not share them with others.
