Born on the 30th day of January I started my early years learning Guitar at the age of 6 from my father, Sri Manoranjan Prabhakar, a renowned composer of the Kannada Film Industry. Besides Guitar I also started training in Carnatic classical vocals from Late Smt. Latha for a little over a decade and Sri. Madhu Kashyap for a little under 2 years. A year into Guitar lessons I started growing a fascination towards Harmonium every time I looked at my dad compose music. No sooner did my father see me practising my vocals lessons on the Harmonium, he realised that I should professionally train on Keyboard.

At the age of 8, I started training under the guidance of Late Sri. R. S James for over 12 years at James Institute of Music (JIM). I then started teaching at JIM for a few years and started performing on stage and recording for albums, TV Serials, documentaries, jingles, etc. I spend most of his time composing music and recording at my own leisure. or even jamming with my band. I have been training people of different ages for the last few years and have been pretty successful in running my registered school. - Shruthilaya Institute of Music, a division of Shruthilaya Cultural Academy.

A little background about my family:
My dad Sri Manoranjan Prabhakar trained from Late Sri. Stephen Chacha, Late Sri David, Late Sri Eashwar and the renowned music composer of the Tamil film industry, Sri M.S Vishwanathan (MSV). Dad has produced Music for 33 movies in Kannada including a couple of them in Tamil. He has recorded about 800 albums over 100 TV serials and a few documentaries till date. You can still listen to his background score at the Jawaharlal Nehru Bangalore Planetarium even today.Some of the renowned singers who worked with him are S. P. Balasubrahmanyam , Dr. K J. Yesudas, Hariharan, S. Janaki, P Suseela, K. S. Chitra, Kavitha Krishnamurthy, L. R. Eashwari, Usha Uthup, Nanditha, Vani Jayaram Mano, Madhu Balakrishnan, Vijay Yesudas, Shaan, Kunal Gnajawala, Karthik, Malaysia Vasudevan, Hemanth, Anuradha Sriram, B. R Chaya, Manjula Gururaj, and so on.

My Granddad(dad’s maternity uncle) is also a renowned Music composer of the South Indian film industry, G. K. Venkatesh. This great man needs no introduction. You can find all about him on the internet.
