SERRA Pre-school-The international pre-school setup in India

SERRA International Pre-school, Sahakarnagar started its operations on April, 2011. The property is built over 5,000 sqft of verdant area with calm surroundings. The pre-school has been setup with world-class facilities and child friendly interiors and exteriors that offer a warm, secure and stimulating environment for the children. SERRA houses five multi-purpose rooms, separate parents lounge and open spaces of over 2,000 sq. ft. A spacious classroom on the second floor has been designed for creative and physical activities such as Yoga, Dance etc. The facility meets all the developmental needs of the pre-school age children. Key attractions of the school include a sand pit, child-friendly splash pool, an Atelier (art studio), nature trail/organic garden cared for by the children. It is a cosmopolitan set up with children from 4 different nationalities.

The school is managed by a group of professionals from diverse backgrounds, who wanted to be a part of the educational reformation of the 21st century. Amongst them, the management team has a cumulative experience of over 30 years in education. The Managing Director of the school is Dr. Rajeena Shahin, a Medical doctor with a Management degree. She has a keen interest in the research of cognitive development in children. The other directors have taken up prominent roles in the organization. The Principal of the school, Ms. Jyotsna Arun has a postgraduate degree in literature and a B. Ed (Bachelors in Education). She has practiced the Reggio Emilia approach in her previous stints at other educational institutions and is a strong advocate of the same. Associate Principal, Ms. Mini Nair is a Post Graduate in Botany with specialization in Microbiology. During her career, she has piloted the inception of the first international school at Kochi, Kerala as a registrar, and was also the Headmistress of a professionally run kindergarten school. Ms. Navita Bhat has an Industry Integrated Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. She has had hands on experience in managing as well as organizing school activities for an international during her stay at Europe. Ms. Bhat currently heads the Child Care Plus program at the school.
