Vagdevi Rural Education Trust was established in 2002 by its founder chairman Sri. D. Shivalingappa, former Secretary, Karnataka State Diploma in Nursing Examination Board, Bangalore.
The Trust runs various educational courses and Vagdevi School and College of Nursing is one among them. This institution is recognized by Government of Karnataka, Indian Nursing Council, Karnataka Nursing Council, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and KSDNEB.
