Since 1985, the SRM University started spreading its wings by establishing the SRM Engineering College in Kattankulathur and in the forthcoming years this institution kept on opening various centers but in 2003-04, this organization received the status of SRM Deemed University by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development Government of India.
