Computer Science & Engineering deals with the theoretical foundations of information and computation along with practical techniques for implementation and application. From April 2020 onwards, our students have used Coursera and other MOOCs for e-Learning apart from our regular online academics and a total of 6650 courses are taken up by more than 510 students, and around 1600 courses are completed till date.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering was started in the year 2002 2003 with an intake of 60, the Year 2010 with an intake of 90 and currently it is 180. The Department is highly progressive and has a team of well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty. 16 faculty members hold Doctoral degrees, and 18 Faculty members are currently pursuing their Doctorate degrees. The Department of Computer Science & Engineering continues to recruit faculty members with high experience in academics, industry, and research.

The Department has well-equipped computer laboratories for course work, teaching and to carry out projects. The servers and nodes are all connected in the network with all necessary licensed software. Exposure to cutting edge technologies is provided by means of Industrial Projects and technical talks from domain experts of reputed research organizations. The students are encouraged to involve themselves in creative, technical and research activities. Students have been performing well in the university examination.

The Department maintains a wireless network (Wi-Fi) with unlimited Internet access for use by staff and students. Our graduates are working in leading IT industries and many students have secured admissions to prestigious universities in India and abroad. The Department has an R&D Center as well as an Incubation Center which is facilitating the students to acquire practical knowledge. The Department also offers an M.Tech. Program (post-graduation) in Computer Science & Engineering, which was introduced in the year 2014 with an approved intake of 18.

The Dept. of ETE, imparting quality education in the field of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering andallied fields of engineering keeping in mind, the requirements of the dynamically changing and highly competitiveglobal environment of the present era. Dept is proud that it has 24 students ranks in the university with two GoldMedals to its credit.

Dept of ETE Practices OBE and brings innovation in Teaching Learning Process (TLP), through a team of competent and committed faculty members and technical staff. At present, we have more than 70% of our faculties with Ph.Ds. Dept has funded project from VTU by Dr. Seema Singh as a PI and one AICTE sponsored ATAL FDP by Dr. Mallikarjuna Gowda. P for the academic year 2021-22.

The Department has very strong student support system in place to nurture and develop them with all round personality. Department has strong industry linkages with companies like Texas Instruments, INTEL INDIA, Elint Labz, Peenya Industries Association, Techni lab Instruments and University of Sannio, Benevento, Italy, for student and faculty exchange programs.

The Department of Information Science and Engineering started in the Year 2010 with an approved intake of 60 and Enhanced to 120 from the academic year 2018-19 and to 180 from the academic year 2019-20. The Department has qualified and professionally dedicated faculty member practice OBE in the academic deliverables. The faculties have published research articles in various National, International, IEEE Conferences, and Journals.

The department has modern laboratories to serve the teaching and research needs of the students as well as faculty members. The Department has been organizing conferences, workshops, expert lectures, and student-centric activities to encourage students and faculty to instill lifelong learning. Few of our students are working for consultancy projects along with a few faculty members. The staffs are encouraged to attend the 10 days internship to bridge the gap between the academics and industry. The department has an admirable research ambiance.

Welcome to the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department at the BMS Institute of Technology and Management. Our Department has been offering an Undergraduate Course (B.E.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering since its inception in 2003-04.

The UG program is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) up to June 2022.

The graduates of our Department have been contributing to core Electrical engineering and in allied areas and are a testimony for the unrelenting support given by the department faculty members and the Institute during their stay here. The Department has well-experienced faculty members with a wide gamut of specializations ranging from heavy electrical machines, power systems, controls, and power electronics to recent advances in smart materials.

Our faculty members have devised various Teaching-Learning methods to develop an engaged and creative student body. Project-Based Learning and Open Courses are our best practices which offer wide scope for the students to explore the field of Engineering, beyond the syllabus. Academics are balanced with a variety of extra-curricular and professional development activities through student chapters of IEEE, ASME, etc. We are very proud of the accomplishments of our students, whose abilities are consistently recognized with awards and accolades in conferences, technical symposiums. We also place great value on the feedback from our students to continuously improve the educational experience and their involvement in helping to shape new initiatives to ensure maximum benefit to the student population.

The graduates of the department have excellent placements including those in core Electrical Engineering companies such as Siemens Ltd., TD Power Systems and PRDC, Bengaluru, and in reputed IT Companies. Many students have also secured admission in prestigious universities abroad.

The department envisions a strategic plan wherein Post Graduate programs will be started along with setting up of Innovation Laboratories catered to learning beyond the syllabus.

The Department of MCA was established in the year 2003 with an approved intake of 60 students with an objective of imparting quality education to students. The MCA programme is provisionally accredited by National Board of Accreditation. The Department has 10 qualified and dedicated teaching staff and 02 technical staff members who put in their best possible efforts to ensure that the students gain the knowledge along with other life-skills, which helps them to face the world confidently and with high self-esteem. The Department has obtained 11 ranks at VTU level since inception. Disciplined environment, conducive to Teaching-Learning, with rigorous academic monitoring is maintained.
