The History of Rashtreeya viadyalaya College of Engineering goes way back in the past, this is among one of the oldest Engineering Colleges in the country it was started in the year 1963 with just three Engineering Departments namely Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. Departments in RVCE with a brief explanation:-
Aerospace Engineering :- This is the field of engineering which imparts sound knowledge in the fundamental areas launch vehicles, aircraft and space-craft. It has two major and overlapping branches namely aeronautical engineering and astronautical engineering. There is one more field related to it that is called Avionics Engineering which is similar but deals only with the electrical side of the aerospace engineering.

Biotechnology :- this is a branch of engineering where biology is combined with technology for research and development for new discoveries for the betterment of the society and many more things, it involves wide range of studies such as engineering, biochemistry, microbiology, chemistry and genetics that s why it is also known as biotechnology and genetics engineering.

Chemical Engineering :- this is a branch of science that applies life science (microbiology and biochemistry) and physical science (physics and chemistry) together with applied mathematics and economics to produce, transform, transport and properly use chemicals, materials and energy,. A Chemical engineers work is to design large scale processes raw materials, living cells, chemicals, microorganism into various form of useful products and energy for day today use to industrial use for a better living of the human beings all over the world and saving the environment from being damaged.

Civil Engineering :- this is the branch of engineering that deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the human made structures or the naturally found environment which includes works like construction and maintenance of roads bridges dams canals and buildings.

Computer Science and Engineering:- this is the field of engineering which deals with several fields electrical engineering and computer science and develops computer software and hardware. This is one of the most important fields of engineering because with this almost everything will in the world will be disturbed.

Electrical and Electronics Engineering:- This is the field of engineering that s in general deals with the study and implementation of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism.
