Job Description
Responsibilities
To correctly assign and record ICD-10-CM and CPT codes, review medical data, including imaging studies, lab results, and physician comments.
Make sure that all diagnoses, treatments, and services are coded accurately and completely.
Follow all rules and recommendations regarding coding, including those set forth by the American Medical Association (AMA) and the Centres for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Maintain and accurately enter coding data in the practice management system or electronic health record (EHR).
