Responsibilities
Enter patient demographics, charges, and medical codes (CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10) into the billing system accurately.
Examine and confirm the accuracy and completeness of patient encounter forms and medical records.
To assign codes correctly, use your understanding of medical coding guidelines.
Examine the documentation to make sure the code assignment is correct.
Make that the patient's insurance information and demographics are entered accurately.
Create and send insurance companies paper and electronic claims.
