Job Title: General Manager Engineering

Role & Responsibilities:

Plant Setup & Project Management
Lead the conceptualization to overall design
Collaborate with cross functional teams to define plant requirements, layouts and workflows
Drive project design timeline, budgets and milestones; ensure timely delivery of project design
Lead civil, mechanical, electrical and automation engineering team

Engineering Leadership
Build and lead high performing engineering team
Define engineering SOPs, standards and best practices
Ensure design for manufacturability, efficiency, scalability and sustainability
Incorporate lean manufacturing and six sigma principles in design

Vendor Management
Evaluate and manage relationships with contractor, suppliers and OEMs
Oversee procurement of equipment and material in line with project specification

Compliance & Safety
Ensure incorporation of safety and environment standards in design
Implement EHS protocol and risk mitigation plan in design
Incorporate statutory requirements and clearances in plant design

Budgeting & Reporting
Prepare and manage CAPEX of the project in the design
Provide regular updates to Leadership team on project status
Incorporate risks and mitigation plans in design
Coordinate with Techno Commercial and Technical Team

Preferred candidate Profile:
Should have around 15 years of relevant experience (12-13 years in case of ME/MTech)
Strong understanding of plant and process design and plant operations
Experience with designing of manufacturing lines of scale Rs.1000 cr
Able to handle multiple plant setup projects simultaneously
Validate or review designs from EPCs or consultants, optimize cost and incorporate efficiency in the design
Ensure compliance with safety and electrical, civil and mechanical standards, interface with utilities, inspectors, and business stakeholders
Should have overall understanding of Electrical, Mechanical and Civil aspects of manufacturing plant and incorporate the operational requirement in the design
Familiarity with regulatory norms& industry standards
Must have hands on experience in designing and understanding of new market trends in Upcoming technology, Estimation and costing, testing.
In-depth knowledge of design software like PVsyst, PVSol, Helioscope, SAM, Homer Pro, AutoCAD, SketchUp.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovative solutions
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Lead Engineering team ensuring their professional development and performance

Education:
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Electrical/ Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering
