About Tamil Nadu PSC

The Madras Service Commission thus came into being under an Act of the Madras Legislature in 1929. Madras Presidency had the unique honour, of being the only province in India to establish the first Service Commission. The Madras Service Commission started with three Members, including the Chairman. After re-organisation of States in 1957, several Commissions were constituted. The Madras Service Commission became Madras Public Service Commission with headquarters at Madras in the year 1957. During 1970, when the name of the State was changed into Tamil Nadu, the Madras Public Service Commission automatically became the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC).

Qualification
Junior Assistant (Non - Security), Junior Assistant (Security), Bill Collector, Grade-I, Field Surveyor And Draftsman : I. Must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification viz., Must have passed S.S.L.C Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies or to College Courses of studies.
Typist : I. Must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification viz., Must have passed S.S.L.C Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies or to College Courses of studies. II. Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting:- i) by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and English (or) ii) by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and Lower/ Junior Grade in English (or) iii) by Higher / Senior Grade in English and Lower/ Junior Grade in Tamil.
Steno-Typist, Grade III : I. Must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification viz., Must have passed S.S.L.C Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies or to College Courses of studies. II. Must have passed the Government Technical Examination both in Typewriting and in Shorthand:- i) by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and English (or) ii) by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and Lower/Junior Grade in English (or) iii) by Higher / Senior Grade in English and Lower/ Junior Grade in Tamil.
Age Limit : 18-35 Years
Fees
One- Time Registration Fee : Rs.50/-
Examination Fee : Rs.75/-
Candidates who have already registered in one time Registration System it is enough to pay the Examination Fee alone.
