Responsibilities
Enter patient demographics, insurance details, and medical codes (ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS) into the billing system accurately.
Check the advantages and eligibility of the patient's insurance.
Prior to charge entry, make sure all necessary documentation is accessible.
Verify the accuracy of the coding and billing information by going over patient charts and paperwork.
Find and fix any inconsistencies or information gaps.
Keep your understanding of payer criteria and coding guidelines current.
