    Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.) is graduate degree awarded after the study of five and a half years duration, including 1-year internship.

    The curriculum includes studying and teaching of modern anatomy, physiology, principles of medicine, preventive and social medicine, pharmacology, toxicology, forensic medicine, ENT, Ophthalmology, principles of surgery, etc. along with ayurvedic topics.

    Eligibility For Admission:
    Marks & Minimal Qualification (General Merit):
    A candidate seeking admission to first BAMS course:
    i) Shall have passed examination equivalent to 10+2 with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subject.
    Student must have secured an aggregate of 50% in Physics Chemistry & Biology. (Min 50% as an average of PCB)

    ii) Candidates who have passed B. Sc degree examination of any University in India
    with any three (3) Science subjects with not less than 50% of marks in the aggregate are eligible for admission to BAMS Course.

    Marks & Minimal Qualification (SC ST & OBC):
    A candidate seeking admission to first BAMS course:
    i) In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50% as above.
    Age:
    The candidate should have completed 17 years on or before 31st day of December of
    the year of admission.

    Admission Procedure & Fees:
    There are more than 52 Private & Govt. ayurvedic medical colleges. Admissions to these colleges are on the first come first served basis.
    There are only 3-4 colleges which conduct their own entrance exams & then admits the selected student.
    All the other colleges do not have any entrance exams for the non Karnataka students. Karnataka student can write KCET entrance & secure admission in Govt. & Private ayurvedic colleges through merit.
    Non Karnataka students are eligible to take admission only in private colleges.
    For example assume there are 60 permitted BAMS seats in xyz ayurvedic college. Out of 60 approximately/ on average 10-15 seats will be reserved for Karnataka student under merit category. Remaining 45 seats will be filled according to management s admission procedure which is first come first serve basis.
    Fees for BAMS the colleges will be decided by the management of the respective colleges.
    All non Karnataka students seeking admission will pay donation + fees as per the college management.
    Total Package (Fees + Donation) of each colleges varies/depends upon the number of seats left, month & reputation of the college and also based on students marks.
    Fees can be paid in an installment basis every year.
    Student who wants to confirm the admission may have to pay at least 1.25-1.5 Lakhs at the time of admission (Initial fees payment amount can be varies depending on colleges & students marks).
    Capitation/Donation has to be paid before the commencement of the classes or on or before August.
    Loan recommendation letter can be issued by the colleges only after paying stipulated fees/donation mentioned in the provisional admission letter.
    Candidate has to submit his/her migration certificate on or before the commencements of the classes. Migration certificate is compulsory document.
