A brief about the company IETS and IL&FS Skills.

IL&FS Education (IETS) is promoted by Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services Limited (IL&FS) primarily operating in the education and training domain , is the social infrastructure initiative of IL&FS India. We promote Education, Employability, and Empowerment. We are experts in the fields of education, skill development, industrial cluster development, health initiatives, E-governance and financial inclusion.

IL&FS Skills is one of the Group companies of IETS, and is one of the key and the most valued skills training organizations in the country, having trained and placed about 2,00,000 persons across the various trades like Apparel & Textiles, leather, engineering, construction, Retail , IT/ITES etc . We are one of the preferred partners of the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Government. of India. We are also associated and work closely with various other Ministries like the Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Textile, Ministry of Urban Development, Ministry of Handloom etc for imparting various levels of skills training.

We operate in a Hub and Spoke model with IL&FS Institute of Skills (IIS) as a Hub and Skills Centres as Spokes. We have as of today established 20 ISS and close to 200 Skills Centers in 24 states. The IIS are being developed through a Joint Venture with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) – an autonomous body under the Ministry of Finance. The mandate is to develop 100 such IL&FS Institute of Skills across the country in the next 4 years and train 4 million persons in the next 10 years. This is one of the largest PPP initiatives in the country in the skills training space.

All our skills programs are placement linked, of varied training durations and are offered to persons at entry level mostly. We use innovative training delivery mechanisms including usage of technology in the form of multimedia content developed to suit the target audience loaded in a device called KYan (a single unit community computer with a projector patented by IL&FS jointly with IIT Mumbai). All this has enabled us to build standardization and quality in our programs reflected in the scale of operations.
