CANADIAN SEASONAL AGRICULTURAL WORKERS PROGRAMME-2015/16

Job Position: Farm Worker - Full Time Position ( Candidates Required)
Program Length: 24-36 months (all contracts vary)
Location: Farms are located in Saskatchewan, few in Manitoba & Ontario

Skills Required:
(not essential for some positions)
Candidate (male or female) MUST have farming experience
Ideally a background/grew up in farming
MUST have FULL clean Driving Licence (no exceptions)
Experience in operating mechanical farming equipment (tractors, combine harvesters, seeding machinery, spraying equipment - with booms)
Ability to drive trucks or articulated vehicles highly regarded
MUST be healthy and physically capable of working on the land to underyake all the jobs and tasks required including heavy lifting
Ideally (not essential but highly regarded) a person with some mechanical knowledge (need not be qualified) to undertake minor repairs and maintenance to the farm vehicles and equipment.
Construction and some maintenance skills advantageous (not essential)
A good sense of adventure and a positive attitude

RECRUITMENT PROCESS
1. Register for the programme Required Documents:
o Two (2) passport-sized photos (one signed by a Justice of the Peace, Minister of Religion etc.)
o National Identification Card
o Birth Certificate
o Heavy Duty/International License (asset)
2. Applicants will be interviewed by a panel, led by the Labour Officer in charge of the programme.
3. If selected for further consideration, each applicant must undergo a complete medical examination by a doctor assigned by the NEB.

10. Applicants would form the pool of workers awaiting placements in Canada. It should be noted that a Canadian employer could also request a particular individual for a vacancy based on previous experience with that employer.
11. If the applicant is successfully placed in a vacancy, the work permit would be issued and the NEB would provide information on travel arrangements as made by the employer.
12. Before departure, all persons in the programme must participate in a Final Instructions session arranged by the NEB. Details about the job, travel, rules of conduct, liaison services in Canada etc would be provided. Individuals would also be given a chance to ask any questions. Counseling may also be provided in a wide array of topics ranging from managing one s finances to conflict resolution.
13. Before departure, all recruited workers must also sign the contract of employment.
