“Arty Akshars” – Art alphabet decks showcasing works by prominent Indian Artists

" A for Apple, B for Ball, C for Cat... Why do we limit our learning by associating "A"only with "Apple"...?
Alphabet decks facilitate the learning of the alphabet by helping children associate each letter with a familiar object. However, I wanted to go a step further and promote the learning of Indian art using this same technique.
It was only when I was interning with the National Gallery Of Modern Art that I thought of this idea. An idea that could help the youth understand and connect with Indian art.
I created " Art alphabet decks" with artworks by India's leading artists, namely Jamini Roy, S.H. Raza, F.N. Souza and M.F. Hussain. Each letter of the alphabet corresponds to an artwork by the concerned artist, leading to stronger associations with art. Therefore, these alphabet decks would allow children to be exposed to artistic masterpieces and allow them to grow in an artistically enriched environment from a very young age.
This would lead to an increase in the understanding and acceptance of Indian art by the youth.
