Destination Information
Chopta is located in Uttrakhand (India) and is situated at distance of about 450kms from New Delhi via Rishikesh. Chopta is also known as Mini Switzerland of India and is a commencement point of the trek to Tungnath & Chandrashila. It is short and easy trek which runs parallel to the sky-scraping Himalayan Treks. During this hiking, one can enjoy clear view of majestic peaks of Panchchuli, Nanda Devi, Nilkanth and Kedarnath.

Tips
Day 01 : HARIDWAR KUND (1350m, Drive 200 kms /5-6 hrs)
Arrive at Haridwar in the morning, After breakfast visit Har ki Paidi (One of the famous spiritual place for Holy arti ) then proceed to Kund via Rishikesh, Srinagar and Rudarprayag. Lunch enroute. Arrive Kund in the evening. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 02 : UKHIMATH (1310m) TO DEORIA TAL (2134m) 8KM (4hrs)
Breakfast and visit the famous temple at Ukhimath before embarking on the trail through the town, heading east, up the hill to Deoria Tal. The pretty walk through rhodendrons, takes you to the ridge above the town. Deoria Tal is a small lake with two tea shops around it. The views of the mountain ranges from here are fabulous. Packed lunch. Bonfire, dinner and overnight at the camp at Deoriatal.
Day 03: DEORIATAL CHOPTA (2600m, trek /5-6 hrs)
Today is a fairly level walk through some beautiful forest and meadows. If you are trekking in the winter months, expect some snow in the shadow areas. There are two camping options, either camp short of Chopta near a steam, or at the meadows below the shops at Chopta. Breakfast, pack lunch, bonfire, dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 04 : CHOPTA TO TUNGNATH TEMPLE (3400m) TO CHANDRASHILA (3925m) AND RETURN TO DUGGALBITTA (2347m) 15KM ( 8 hrs)
Form the picturesque environs of Chopta; take the path through the arch leading up to the temple. Tungnath is a short 3 km trek from Chopta. The temple is only visible in the last few hundred metres. Head up past the temple to the peak. Enjoy the beautiful 360-degree views, before heading down Chopta again and finally to Duggalbitta. In winters, when it snows, the small town of Chopta is deserted and even the tea shops will be shut. Bonfire, dinner and overnight camp at Duffalbitta.
Day 05 : DUGGALBITTA PHOOLCHATTI, SHIVPURI (RISHIKESH)
After breakfast drive to Phoolchatti, Shivpuri (One of the famous and safest place in the world for rafting).Lunch enroute. Arrive at ME Adventure Camp in the evening. Bonefire, dinner and overnight at our camp.
Day 06 : MARRINE DRIVE -RISHIKESH-DELHI
After breakfast and a rafting session on the river Ganga, from Marrine drive to Rishikesh, we will have lunch at camp and again continue rafting to Rishikesh, then in the evening join Holy arti at Parmarth Niketan and visit Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula and local market. After dinner proceed to Haridwar railway station to board Mussoorie Express for Delhi.
