Course Description

GCA offers B.Arch (Bachelor of Architecture) which is a 5 year undergraduate degree programme which is approved by the Council of Architecture, New Delhi. The programme follows a rigorous curriculum with equal focus on theory and practical. Students are required to undertake practical training during 10th Semester, as part of curriculum. On completion of the programme, a degree will be awarded by the Guwahati University.

Course Fee:

Rs. 83,000 per semester ( 6 months)

Eligibility

- Passed XII (i.e 10+2 scheme of senior school certificate examination HSSLC/HSSC or equivalent) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% for reservation category) with mathematics as one of the compulsory subjects, and subjects to an aptitude test conducted by the Council of Architecture

OR

-Passed I U V 3 year diploma, recognized by Central /State Governments with minimum 50% marks in Aggregate at diploma examination.
-Students shall have to appear for aptitude test, conducted by the Council of Architecture. (NATA)
-There is no Lateral admission for 10 + 3 candidates to higher semesters. Eligible candidates shall be admitted to first year B. Arch only.
-All candidates under any category, what so ever (i.e NRI /PIO / Foreigners / Management quota/Reservation Category / Open Category) shall have to appear for aptitude test conducted by the Council of Architecture. (NATA)
-In order to pass Architectural aptitude test, a candidate must obtain minimum 40% marks in NATA.

Institute Description

Established in the year 2006, Guwahati North East is the first architecture college in the North Eastern region of India. Instituted by the Dona Foundation, Guwahati College of Architecture has been dedicated it to the states of North East in general and Assam in particular. It is also approved by Council of Architecture, New Delhi.

GCA has seeks to blend together Technology, Humanities and Aesthetics into a special curriculum most suited for the students of this region and its culture. The first batch of students at GCA graduated in 2010-11 with flying colors and was well placed all over the country.

Guwahati College of Architecture is backed by a strong team of faculty from J. J. College of Architecture, Mumbai who guide the final year students for their Thesis submissions.
