Coorg Institute of Dental Sciences (CIDS), established under the aegis of the Coorg Dental and Medical Sciences Trust (R), is an aspiration borne out of deep societal commitment and responsibility. The primary objective of the institution is service of the nation through the medium of science and education. Since its inception in 1999, the institution has strived to provide comprehensive and interactive education; ethical and compassionate healthcare and a platform for research and innovation.
CIDS has the approval of the Ministry of Health, GOI and the Dental Council of India and is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. Pre-eminence in dental education and research has always been our prime focus. Towards achieving this goal we have formulated innovative teaching methodologies; skill enhancement and academic appraisal programs; and Research and Innovation Centre. We have collaborations with international universities which is not only a reflection of the deep bond of friendship and understanding but also a reflection of our commitment to excellence.

We provide both graduate and postgraduate programs leading to the B.D.S and M.D.S degree. The Dental Specialty Hospital is housed in a spacious sixty five thousand square feet building with two hundred and fifty Dental chairs. About two hundred and twenty patients are treated every day at this specialty hospital free of cost. The clinical exposure to our students is thus excellent.

ABOUT BDS
Duration: 4 years with 1 year Internship.
Eligibility Criteria:
The candidate must have completed 17 Years of age at the time of admission or shall complete this age as on the 31st December of the Admission Year.
He/ She should be medically fit to undergo the course and practice dentistry.
Have passed the Karnataka II PUC examination or an equivalent examination in CBSE, ICSE or State Boards with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages
Have secured 50% Marks in these three subjects and English taken together. However, for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates, the minimum marks are 40%
Admission to the course shall be based on National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by National Board of Examinations. Advertisement are released in all leading dailies during the month of January / February for the application of the entrance examination. Candidates can register online (see www.nbe.edu.in). Entrance examinations are conducted during the month of April / May. Admission to this program will be based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. The candidates will be called for registration and online counselling process by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) through the website kea.kar.nic.in and allotment of the seat is based on the merit list published by KEA.
The candidates may approach the CIDS Deanery with the admission allotment letter from the counselling authority (KEA) along with the below mentioned original documents:

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates who have completed their Undergraduate Dental education in India from a dental college/institute duly recognized as per the provisions of the Dentists s Act, 1948 are eligible for MDS.
The candidates should have completed Compulsory Rotatory Internship by 31 March 2017.
Candidates should have obtained permanent registration with the Dental Council of India or any of the State Dental Council or should obtain the same within one month from the date of admission.
Candidates who did their Undergraduate Dental education outside India should have special permission from DCI.
All Candidates should be qualified in NEET - MDS.
Admission to the course shall be based on National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) - MDS conducted by National Board of Examinations. Candidates can register online (see www.nbe.edu.in) from September to October. Entrance examinations are conducted during the months November to December. Admission to this program will be based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. The candidates will be called for registration and online counselling by KEA and final admission based on the merit list.

CIDS has been in the forefront of advanced implant education since 2008 and is in partnership with the prestigious NOBEL BIOCARE company from Sweden. Through IPP we have trained more than 100 doctors and awarded them with NOBEL FELLOWSHIP.
International Admission
Candidates with foreign qualifications will have to obtain the Equivalence Certificate from Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi who will equate their qualifications as equivalent to the 10+2 of India. This certificate will have to be submitted at the time of admissions.
