Overview:
The M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology was set up in 1962. The college offers courses in different branches of engineering and is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). It also has NBA accreditation and is an ISO 9001: 2000 institute.

MSRIT, as it is popularly known, is located in Bangalore. The college infrastructure has been developed over the years to cope with the changing demands in the field of technical education. The MSRIT campus has an excellent library, wide internet access, as well as hostel facilities for the students.

What s on offer
The institute offers various graduate and post graduate degrees. These include Bachelor of Architecture, BE, M Tech, MSc (Engineering), Ph D, MBA and MCA. Admission for the BE, B Arch and MTech courses depends on the results of various entrance tests.

BE courses: The institute has 12 BE courses. These include biotechnology engineering, chemical, civil, computer science, electric and electronics, electronics and communication, industrial engineering and management, information science, instrumentation technology, mechanical engineering, medical electronics and telecommunications engineering.

M Tech courses: There are also eight M Tech courses available for students. These are software engineering, manufacturing science and engineering, computer integrated manufacturing, structural engineering, environmental engineering, computer applications in industrial drives, digital electronics and communication, digital communication.

Admissions for the MBA and MCA programs are through KMAT.

Infrastructure and Facilities
An experienced and qualified faculty has resulted in the institute being ranked high in various surveys. The library and the laboratory infrastructure are also extremely well developed. The library has centralized air conditioning with top knowledge resources for students and faculty. In fact, it has 83120 volumes of books and access to 24,000 databases. The library also subscribes to 991 e-resources and 293 national and international journals.

Placements:
It s the best part of this college. More than 100% placement for all branches is guaranteed. More IT companies than the core ones visit the campus, so CS, IS and ECE branches gets more salaries which is 4.5 5 lakh on an average. IBM, Wipro & Accenture are the major recruiters for these branches. Big MNCs like Microsoft & Texas Instruments also took a few students offering an amazing package of 10 to 12 Lakhs. Mechanical, Civil, IM and other branches gets average 3.5 lakh package and their major recruiters are Bosch & L&T.

Bachelor Degree:

10+2 or PUC or equivalent
Minimum 45 % in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Biotechnology or Computer Science
Master Degree:

Bachelor s degree with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate from a recognized University.
