Civil Engineering is a broad field of engineering which involves planning Design, construction maintenance and management of structures or public works.

Civil Engineering deals with construction and maintenance of buildings, bridges, roads, railways, structures, water supply & sewer, Irrigation, power & environment. Alternate Building materials, Green buildings, structural health monitoring, safety and fire practices are the recent developments and the most sought after topics in branch

Civil Engineering Department of DSCE aims at developing analytical and experimental skills in students to apply in various fields of Civil Engineering.

The department also provides an opportunity for students in improving communication and presentation skills, knowledge of software like Auto CAD, STAAD PRO, Arc GIS and Rivet Architecture. For students the department consistently organizes Industrial Training and visit to live projects to gain practical knowledge and understanding of field constraints.

The Civil Department has well qualified teaching faculties with industrial experience who are enthusiastic in imparting the quality teaching to the students. There are eight Ph.D degree holders and Ten faculty are pursuing Ph.D Degree. The emphasis is laid on proper understanding of the fundamentals of the subjects through animation, video clips and case studies. It has well equipped laboratories, computational facilities; modern class rooms and provides a good environment for learning. Many senior faculty members are also engaged in research and consultancy projects which benefit the students for active learning. The department also has its own library housing a good numbe
This year the placement was fairly good. Almost 40 percent of the students from computer science were placed in dream companies. Considering the mass placement, the percent of placed students goes to almost 75. Microsoft and Cisco were two super dream companies that hired in double digits (12 16, I guess).
Apart from that, another 10 15 students (mostly GDC, 2 for IDC who did internships) got PPO from Microsoft.
The highest package was offered by Amazon (27lakh -> 3 students). Directi (26 lakh -> 1 student), Paypal (21 lakh -> 7 students), De-Shaw (25 lakh -> 3 students).
Overall, the number of placed students was more in this year than previous years. Many students were hired by IT Companies for mass placements.

You will love our campus. It's a green campus with 5 GB Wi-Fi access to every student in every month. The Wi-Fi quota increases with every year which is expected to 10 GB in the coming year.
Classrooms are normal with some of them being smart classrooms.
We have a library in every school (branch) and one central library with thousand of books. There is one mini hospital available on the campus. Sports and games facilities are available in both girls and boys hostel. There are 15 boys hostels and 3 girls hostels.
Many students prefer to stay outside the hostel as rent payers.

Faculty members at our college are good. I won't say they are the best. Some of them are rude and don't listen to the students' query. The teaching method is generally projector based. Teachers come with a laptop and project their PPTs or PDFs to teach.
After that, the same material is available on the students portal for further reference. In a class, there are approximately 60 students with one faculty.
Industry exposures come through internship and we get many opportunities for that.
The curriculum is useful.

If you are willing to join, prefer to take the CSE or IT Branch. If not, take ECE or EEE branch.
Don't go for the civil or mechanical branch.
A large number of companies come for placements for CSE and IT branch. For ECE and EEE branch, there are a few but for mechanical and civil, only mass company comes.
So, one line suggestion for you, join CSE or IT branch.
