Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), informally VIT University, formerly Vellore Engineering College is a private deemed university institute located in the outskirts of Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. Founded in 1984, as Vellore Engineering College, by G. Viswanathan, the institution offers 20 undergraduate, 34 postgraduate, four integrated and four research programs. People can become much broad minded and can promote better social mobility in their character since no gender based discrimination is there, Girls and Talk with boys and vice-versa, do combine study in library in late night hours too, manage clubs and event together etc. Except for two rules, one is ban on PDA and other is hostel timings for girls. But these people after they graduate feel 'Ok' since the university prevented them from doing something stupid on their collage days.

5) Curriculum is at the best since FFCS will provide many free hours as per the slots chose by students. This is way better while compared to other collages which makes students sit from 9-5 in class.

6) Attendance rule is for every individual subject and thereby 25% attendance relaxation was given by the institution.

7) Dressing code is not there. Only during collage days we can wear whatever we want as we go on to become a professional we MUST stick to dress code. Hostels were too better while compared to other collages

8) One common doubt I have to clear in the minds of students who are studying there. Apart from Dream offers, The service companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant and Accenture will tend to recruit students in huge numbers just because they are Multi-national and will have at-least 10k engineers per branch. So their appetite is always more to match Demand-Supply chain.

The mediocre pay in these companies are due to the number of employee benefits they provide to each person. So don't worry at all when one fails to get a dream offer because some will be reasonably good in Apps but not technical, some vise-versa, some may only be good at academics with a high CGPA and this doesn't mean a person is not capable enough. Its just because our passion is different. Now among these companies Infosys and Wipro gave internship to its recruits in Final semester. This will be at its best since we need not wait for call letter also. In my final year Infy ppl got intern in Mysore and Wipro people got Kochi.

Onsite offers in foreign countries are available in plenty in service based firms!, so if one wants to work and settle abroad and was clear in the mindset, no matter regarding the salary, just stick with what we get for first two years. Also training in these companies are upto global standards. You can interact with our alumni in FB pages of these companies.

9) Every year we have a industrial visit cum tour and we can visit many beautiful locations like Kochi, Bangalore, Ooty, Goa etc.

10) Last but not least, Don't get afraid on number of students studying here. When I am a junior back in 2011, the whole batch size of 2011 pass-outs were only 3000 and around 217 companies visited VIT at the time. As the batch size increased so do the number of companis. This year for M.Tech internship cum placement alone 300 companies came. So demand-supply is well balanced despite huge number of students

Also there are numerous VITians who kick-started their own Start-up companies after their bachelors or masters. VIT has a separate start-up assistant board where students can bring their own idea leading to a start-up, So we need not wait for an IIM degree and do Everest climbing for CAT.
