The act of replicating computer folders and files in real-time from one computer to another via the internet is known as data replication.
Replication is advantageous in Relational Database Management Systems because it may be used to offer redundancy or load balance, hence improving performance across numerous database servers.

There are companies nowadays that sell the entire replication package as a single product with a one-time licencing fee. This enables small and medium businesses to have full replication capacity at a reasonable cost by connecting via the internet.
