Maha Kumbha Mela is a mass gathering of Hindu devotees. The holiest pilgrimage in the world happens every 12 years (Maha Kumbha) and every 6 years (Ardh Kumbha). The gathering of devotes happens for only one purpose and that is the holy bath in the divine river waters. The festival is celebrated at four places in India. Ujjain (on the banks of River Kshipra), Nashik (on the banks of river Godavari), Haridwar (on the banks of River Ganga and Allahabad Prayag (confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswathi).
