My teaching technique is interactive and multidimensional, reflects the teaching of my father, Ananta Makhal, who was one of the pioneers of western classical music in India, a blessed Violin teacher, producing innumerable professional western classical violinists from Kolkata. I happened to land in Hyderabad for a music project in 2002, fell in love with the city, and decided to stay back.
I believe in a strong technical foundation that includes posture, right and left hand technique, sound quality, expression and intonation. In addition, I make an effort to teach musicality, self-awareness, and analytical thinking. I feel , it is important for a student to understand the impact they make on the general listeners/audience while playing the violin, and how the violin magnifies his/her life with the grand treasure of Western Classical music. My purpose is to conduct each student to become a technically sound, musical, and self-reliant musician, who enjoys playing the violin.
I teach violin at my home, mainly on the weekends, but, I also take classes on the weekdays for those, who learn twice in a week and who cannot come on the weekends.
I follow the proper Violin course based on European Classical Music. I provide the Musical Assessment program through 'ABRSM' and 'The Trinity College' of London. The examiner comes from U.K. once in a year and conducts the exam. Appearing for the examination is not compulsory; it is always a choice of the student.
I do not believe in group teaching, I teach one student at a time (private tuition). The duration of one class is around one hour. Please contact me for more details.
You can call me between 11am to 11pm, any day in a week. Call at 9704109059
