How Long You Can Stay in the US on a Student Visa

A non-immigrant U.S. visa will be required if you intend to pursue your higher education in the United States.
Depending on the type of course and institute you can opt for either of the two types of US student visa the F Academic Visa and the M Vocational Visa.
The F Academic visa:
The F Academic visa is for entering the U.S. for attending a university or college for higher education. Those planning on participating in a language training program in the U.S. will also have to acquire a F visa.
The M Vocational visa:
To be able to attend a vocational or other recognized non-academic institution in the U.S., an M visa for the U.S. will have to be secured instead.
The first step for securing a U.S. student visa is to gain acceptance into an educational institution in the U.S. that is approved by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement [ICE] Student and Exchange Visitor Program [SEVP].
