Peoples Education Society (PES) was established in 1972. PES runs a group of premier institutions that offer a multitude of diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in Commerce, Engineering, Management, Medicine, Pharmacy and Science disciplines.

The Department of Science and Humanities at PES School of Engineering is highly focused on imparting quality education to meet the global challenges of science and technology. The department plays a vital role in laying the strongest foundation so that the students are well equipped to stand up to higher education.
The department is comprised of faculty members from various disciplines such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, language training (English and Kannada) and training in soft skills. The department also imparts knowledge on subjects like Environmental studies and Constitution of India and professional Ethics to undergraduate engineering Students which is a part of VTU curriculum.
The Department consists of highly experienced, talented and dedicated faculty members of whom many are doctorates and few are pursuing their Ph.D from various reputed universities including IISc.
As added gems to the crown, the department of science and Humanities has two VTU recognized research centers for Physics and Chemistry where 7 students have registered for Ph.D program.
