The Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has confirmed that the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) will be the only medical entrance exam in India from now onwards. All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research will not conduct AIIMS MBBS and JIPMER MBBS entrance test for the MBBS admissions.
The admission to the 1207 seats in all the 15 AIIMS including AIIMS New Delhi and 14 others and the 200 seats in JIPMER Pondicherry and Karaikal will be conducted based on the NEET 2020 exams directed by the National Testing Agency.
According to reports, the affirmation with respect to the assessment was made in the Lok Sabha where the MHRD was asked especially six questions in regards to the MBBS Admissions. The questions asked the number of entrance tests led by discrete establishments for MBBS affirmations, the legislatures plan on actualizing NEET as the only entrance test for MBBS confirmations, if the administration has talked about the above issue with the states before executing the same, details of the reaction alongside the number of states which wouldn t execute the choice and the states likely to actualize the choice.
The HRD Ministry is given a combined answer to all the questions asked. According to the ministry, the National Medical Commission Act 2019 was given the approval on August, this year and Section 14 of the act conveys that there will be a common and uniform NEET examination for the admission to the undergraduate medical courses in all medical colleges, those who come under any law.
By this change, now onwards the AIIMs and JIPMER medical exams have been canceled and the admission will be conducted only under NEET. Students all over India have applied only one medical entrance exam. Until last year, around 3lakhs students appear in the AIIMs entrance exam, and 1-2 lakhs students appear in JIPMER entrance exam, on the other side NEET, over 15lakhs students applied and 14lakhs students only appeared for exams, now with the AIIMs and JIPMER entrance exams has canceled and the number of applicants of NEET exams will increase.
As per the news released by NTA, the National Testing Agency will be conducted the NEET 2020 exams on MAY 3, 2020, it will be the pen and paper-based exams. Registration for NEET 2020 will begin on December 2, 2019, and end on December 31, 2019
