Description for "Walden's Path | The Magnet School in Jubliee hills"

Walden s Path is an Artful Learning center incorporating Artful Learning , a unique methodology devised by the Leonard Bernstein Center, USA. Walden s Path brings this fascinating methodology to India.

Our curriculum and approach enable children from other curricula (Montessori, Waldorf, Reggio Emilia, CBSE, ICSE, IGCSE or IB) to excel with our learning method or with any of the curricula mentioned above.

We at Walden s Path, believe that all children are artists and facilitate The Atelier Studio model to nurture the child s creativity, imagination and communication skills during crucial early childhood years.Walden s Path is a place where children are free. Their natural curiosity is the starting point for everything that happens here. Students and staff move around freely, mix easily with each other and with the newcomer.

Here, children initiate all their own activities. The facilitators are there to answer their needs. Learning takes place in formal and informal settings, in large and small groups, or individually. All ages are free to mix. The dynamics among students of different ages, helping each other learn about everything from fractions to human relations, is one of the greatest strengths of Walden s Path.

    How are we Different?

Walden s Path championed a new way of learning for your child that connects from time immemorial integrating Art, Love of Nature and Cultural contexts into conventional curricula. The school s core values, rooted in the constructivist/progressive education philosophy, sustain an unshakable belief in children s capacity to enjoy learning, to act rationally, and to grow when inspired by qualified, caring teachers.

In our progressive approach, we see the individual child s curiosities, abilities and learning style as important factors in designing, differentiating and assessing each student s learning. We encourage children to follow their interests, pursue problems in a way that makes sense to them and defend their conclusions by explaining their thinking in a variety of ways. We engage students with hands- on investigations, projects and design challenges across the grades and subject areas inspiring greater interest, depth and understanding. Our approach values the skills involved in formulating one s own questions, as well as answering those of a teacher. We view mistakes as important opportunities for both learning and assessment.
