hwari Medical College & Hospital (RRMCH) is located in the South-Western outskirts of Bangalore on one of the arterial roads – Bangalore Mysore highway. Although it’s pretty far from the city’s centre and Majestic Bus stand, accessibility isn’t very poor as a few buses do manage to come by this area and drop you off somewhere close. The college provides its own bus facility as well but at an additional cost of Rs. 15k/year

Infrastructure:
Parts of the Rajarajeshwari Medical College campus are still in the making but whatever's ready looks splendid. Classrooms, labs, library are excellent and wireless internet is available all through the college premises.

Hostel facilities are available at a reasonable Rs. 50,000/- per year. Maintenance is good but students frequently complain about the food.

Faculty:
Students don’t hold any grudges against the faculty as they share a very friendly student-teacher relationship. “Faculty members are really good at teaching, they are well experienced and are also very approachable” say a bunch of students. The only issue is that some departments fall short of faculty.

Attendance:
Rajarajeshwari Medical College is painfully strict about attendance. 75% is the recommended figure and 60% is absolutely mandatory to be able to appear for exams. Between 60-75% strict actions are taken against the defaulters.

Crowd:
Although Rajrajeshwari Medical College & Hospital (RRMCH) is located in a semi-urban environment, the crowd here, astonishingly, comes from proper urban backgrounds and is fun to be lingering around with. Number of guys & girls is nearly equal and although the entire college taken together has a fantastic mix of people from all around the country, dominance of a particular state is somehow always seen in each batch.

Canteen:
The college canteen is sufficiently spacious and serves good food at reasonable rates. Fortunately for those coming from the North Indian states, your kind of food is also tolerably edible. “Veg. Biryani and Palak curry” recommends one.

Festivals:
Only a college-level annual meet followed by a small festival is conducted sometime in March or April.

Hospitals Affiliated:
Rajarajeshwari Medical College is affiliated only to the parent hospital but students are of the opinion that enough medical exposure here doesn’t require them to get experience somewhere else. The hospital is very near to rural areas, is adjacent to the highway and is the only hospital in the vicinity, thus, attracting numerous patients.

Verdict:
Rajarajeshwari Medical College & Hospital (RRMCH) cannot be classified as one of the elite medical colleges in Bangalore but it’s growing quickly and is expected to figure amongst the top medical colleges here soon.
