M. S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (MSRUAS) is a UGC approved Private University in India. It was created by an act in the State of Karnataka, India and was established in December 2013.
Within two years of establishment, the University has been ranked as one of the top 100 universities in India issued by the National Institutional Ranking Framework of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The University has been rated as a "Four Star" University under New University Category of Karnataka State University Rating Framework (KSURF)[6]. Under the KSURF ranking, MSRUAS remains as the only University to achieve "Five Stars" for innovation [7].
The University is separate from MSRIT M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology which is affiliated to VTU and M. S. Ramaiah Medical College which is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
The University is sponsored by Gokula Education Foundation (Medical) trust. The University was created by integrating the M S Ramaiah School of Advanced Studies (1999), M.S. Ramaiah College of Hotel Management (1993), M.S. Ramaiah College of Pharmacy (1992), M.S. Ramaiah Dental College (1991) and the M.S. Ramaiah Advanced Learning Centre (2012). The campuses of the university is located at Mathikere and Peenya, Bengaluru, India.

Eligibility
Candidates for admission to the Programme shall meet the eligibility criteria as prescribed by the appropriate statutory bodies like AICTE etc.
Foreign Students seeking admissions should have equivalent qualification and must be proficient in English. Candidates must have minimum TOEFL score.
Following table describes the eligibility criteria:
Pass 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Bio Technology or Biology. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserve category) in the above subjects taken together

For lateral entry to Second year
a. Passed Diploma examination from an approved institution with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserve category) in appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology
b. Passed B.Sc. from a recognized University as recognized by UGC with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserve category) and passed class 12th standard with Physics and Mathematics as subjects

The programmes and curriculum have been evolved, over the years, by the members of faculty based on their teaching experience and long standing interaction with various foreign universities and Industries. The curriculum offered is outcome based and helps students to develop critical thinking abilities and imbibe relevant practical skills for a smooth transition from academics to real life work environment. Opportunities are provided for students to do their internship in India or abroad depending on their preference. The alumni of the Faculty hold respected positions in industry and business in India and abroad.

The Faculty undertakes Sponsored Research with Departments of Defence and Space related Aerospace, Automotive, Semiconductor, Electronic systems. The Faculty interacts with industry and businesses offering Engineering Consultancy, Product Design and Development services, along with training modules to practicing professionals. The Faculty interacts with more than 150 companies in public and private sectors spread across India including many OEMs.

The Faculty has set up a TIFAC-CORE in Digital Image Processing. It also works closely with DRDO Laboratories like GTRE, ADE, ADA, CVRDE, DARE, CAIR, NPOL, AR &DB, DRDO-IP & ER and DST on research projects and has actively participated in NP-MICAV and GATET programmes. The Faculty was involved in international projects under EU- FP6 and UKIERI and has received equipment grants from multinationals like Agilent Technologies, Texas Instruments, Xilinx etc. More than 100 papers are published annually and make contributions to the University publications - Book of Students Projects Abstracts, a student feedback magazine called Reflections and a biannual technical journal-SAS Tech.
Organization
The University aims to focus its programmes on student-centric higher education so that the graduates are equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills expected by industry and business. The university has four verticals Academic Studies; Academic Research; Training, Skill Development and Lifelong Learning and a Techno Centre for Consultancy, Product Design and Development and Entrepreneurship Development. Students of the University can expect to experience an integrated approach to academics, research, training, real life problem solving and entrepreneurship.

The University, at present, has established faculties in Engineering and Technology, Art and Design, Management and Commerce, Mathematical & Physical Sciences, Biological & Life Sciences, Dental Sciences, Pharmacy and Hospitality Management & Catering Technology. Through these faculties, the University offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes. The faculties offer an enriched curriculum drawn from the strong interactions between the faculties and industry and business.

The University has also created the Directorates of: Student Affairs; Quality, Educational Processes and Educational Technologies; Sponsored Research; Training and Lifelong Learning (TLLL) and Techno Centre to provide rich, all-round experience to students. The University s head office is located at the Gnanagangothri Campus, MSR Nagar, New BEL Road, Bangalore.
