AMC Engineering College is located on the Bannerghatta Main Road in the region of Kalkere in far south of Bangalore. The college is well known and thus finding the college is very easy. BMTC buses run frequently and bus stop is located right beside the college gate. Almost same numbers of students travel by bus and bikes. AMC is conveniently located- it is just 7kms from IIM Bangalore and is also close to Electronic City and Jayanagar. Despite far from the main city, AMC is easily accessible from all major locations of the city.



Infrastructure:
Spread over 52 acres of land the huge AMC campus has aesthetically designed buildings for each department. There is an excellent and well maintained football ground right at the centre of the land. Other outdoor sports facilities include basketball and volleyball courts. Facilities for indoor sports like Table tennis, chess and carrom are also there. Classrooms are well ventilated and the four seater metal benches are comfortable enough to spend 6 to 8 hours a day. Campus is enabled with WiFi connection without any restriction on usage. Additionally there is an Internet Centre equipped with a number of latest terminals with 15 Mbps dedicated internet connectivity and is open all year round. Library has all the latest books in suffiecient quantities. There is a separate reference library in the new adjacent building. Labs are well equipped. There are state of the art seminar halls and conference halls which are used to conduct lectures, presentations and technical conferences.

AMC has got huge hostels which can accomodate nearly 500 boys and 200 girls in separate buildings. Students find the twin sharing rooms small. Washrooms are cleaned only once in a while. Mess food is not bad. Once a week students are treated with a speciality dish. Hostel charges are Rs. 40,000/- per annum including the mess food.

Faculty:
Just like any other engineering college, the teaching staff at AMC is a mix of senior and junior ones. The senior teachers are well versed their subjects. And the junior teachers make up for their lack of experience by their dedication and they try to give their best during the lecture. The rapport between the students and teachers is pretty good.



Attendance & Discipline:
Following the strict 85% VTU norms, AMC students have to maintain this mark compulsorily with a 10% grant. Below 75%, students have to pay a fine which is proportionate to the severity of shortage of attendance. In the first week of the new semester, students have to pay a fine of Rs. 200 per day on lack of attendance. It s advised to maintain atleast 60% else the chances of detaining and/or heavy fine are high.
