Buxa Tiger Reserve : Buxa Tiger Reserve lies in Alipurduar Sub Division of Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal. Its northern boundary runs along the international border with Bhutan. Buxa is rich with bio-diversity and has a great collection of rare orchids and medicinal plants. Because of inaccessible terrain some parts of Buxa hills in the Sinchula range are still unexplored. The veritable flora and fauna of these wet forests attracts tourists and nature lovers every year. The Generic diversity of mammals is second highest among all the tiger reserves of India. The reserve has the second largest population of tiger in West Bengal after Sunderbans. Besides tiger, leopard, elephants, bears, civets, giant squirrel, Gaur, Chital, clouded leopard, wild Buffaloes, antelope and snakes including the regal Python are found here.

Sikiajhora : Sikiajhora is a small stream that flows within the Buxa Tiger reserve. Situated in North Panialguri of Alipurduar subdivision. A small dam and embankment was constructed by forest department here a few years back. There was also boating trip available inside the forest. The small stream turned a furious river during the rainy season and the embankments were breached. There is an eco tourism development committee comprising local villagers. They take care of the picnickers. Kalkut a forest village is a picnic spot to lure tourists is on the other side of the road. If you are here to be close to nature, you would still love spending a couple of hours besides the forest on the watchtower.

How to Reach Sikiajhora :

Rail Way : Nearest rail Junction is New Jalpaiguri in North Bengal and the nearest station is New Alipurduar station which has direct connections to Kolkata. Kanchenjunga, Kamrup and Saraighat Express's etc are some of the trains.

By Road : Alipuarduar has buses operating to Sikiajhora.

By Air : If you are travelling by air the most convenient airport is Bagdogra.
