Gangtok, the land of monasteries, it is a bustling, friendly hill station, and the capital of the Himalayan state of Sikkim. The scenery is spectacular and there are excellent views of the entire Kanchenjunga Range from many points in the environs of the city. Tourist attractions in Gangtok:

Changu Lake: Changu Lake is literally known as the 'source of the lake' in Bhutia language. Situated around 35 kms away from Gangtok, this calm lake is located at an altitude of 12,310 ft on the Gangtok Nathu La highway. It is also a home of brahminy ducks. It's cool, placid water harmonizes with the scenic beauty around. A small temple of lord Siva is constructed on the lakeside .

Tsomgo Lake: Located in the north-eastern part of Sikkim, the lake was worshipped by the Sikkimese. The tranquil surroundings and pretty setting of the lake make it a place of tourist interest too. A temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is also situated on the shore of the lake.

Enchey Monastery: The Enchey Monastery was established in 1909 above Gangtok. The gompa is very decoratively constructed and has many attractive images of the deities inside. It belongs to the Nyingma order of Vajrayana Buddhism. The monastery is considered sacred as it is believed that the protecting deities, Khangchendzonga and Yabdean reside in this monastery.

Deer Park: Deer Park, located in close proximity to the Secretariat of Sikkim, is also known as Rustamji Park. Deer Park is famous for being the home to several species of deer along with some other animals like Red Panda, Himalayan Bear.
