Jalappa Hospital and Research Centre, the teaching hospital attached to Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College, the constituent college of Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education & Research was started in the year 1994 with outpatient services catering to the health care needs of people in and around Kolar. Subsequently, inpatient services were commenced from January 1995.
The vision of the hospital is to provide quality health care services to the people at affordable and reasonable cost. This goal is being achieved and will be continued with the cooperation of the entire faculty and also the management. R.L. Jalappa Hospital operates and manages 1050 bedded accommodations with the clinical-teaching requirements of undergraduate and post graduate medical students and to satisfy its social obligation of meeting the health needs of the people of the region.
