Description for "Declining Number of Married People in US – Christian NRI"

According to the recent findings, the number of married people in the U.S. between the age of 25 and 34 are declining largely in the past one decade. With the outbreak of recession in the country, an increasing number of people prefer to live along rather than getting married and starting a family. In fact, the concept of live-in relationships and the facilities that come along with it, have promoted the reducing need of marriage and the several responsibilities that come along with them.
During the period of 2000 to 2009, a substantial decrease in the percentage of people who got married was identified. A 10% decrease was identified which undoubtedly leads to a decrease in other demographic percentages of the country. In fact, the number of people who have never married has increased more than the people who have married at least once.
Furthermore, according to the census, the marriage rates in the country have dropped in all regions/castes. However, it is identified that the marital rates are also subject to the educational qualifications of the individuals. People with high school diploma face a decrease in marital success while individuals with a Bachelors degree have a better and steady rate of marriage. With the decline in the employability and economic stability, couples tend to avoid the question on marriage altogether and prefer to adopt other means.
