D. Y. Patil University was established in the year 2005, in the name of the great educationist and philanthropist DR. D. Y. PATIL Padma Shree Awardee. D.Y. Patil Education Society is the sponsoring society of the University. D. Y. Patil Education Society (Institution Deemed to be University) Kolhapur is registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860 bearing no. Maharashtra/32907/Kolhapur on 21st November 2013. The sponsoring society started its Medical College in 1989. This college was initially affiliated to the Shivaji University, Kolhapur and later on affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must be an Indian National

The candidate must have passed MBBS Examination from a recognized Medical College & should have obtained final registration either from the Medical Council of India, New Delhi or Maharashtra Medical Council or concerned State Medical Council after completion of one year rotating internship training

The candidate undergoing one year rotating internship training and likely to obtain final registration certificate from the MCI, New Delhi or State Medical Council on or before 15th April 2016 can also appear for the entrance test

Selection Procedure

The selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of inter-se-merit of the candidates taking into consideration the preference given by them and availability of seat in the branch/discipline of his/her choice when it is his/her turn for counselling

A candidate securing higher percentage of marks taken together of marks at the First, Second& Third MBBS (Part I & II) exams taken together will be preferred

In case of tie, a student possessing MBBS degree from Indian University will be given preference than a student possessing MBBS/Equivalent degree from other countries
