Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) stands as a prominent public research institution situated in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Bearing the name of the eminent 10th-century philosopher and scholar, al-Farabi, it holds the distinction of being both the oldest and largest university in Kazakhstan, as well as one of the foremost in Central Asia.

Established in 1934 under the name Kazakh State University, it underwent a significant renaming in 1991 to honor al-Farabi's legacy. With a robust academic community comprising over 20,000 students and 3,000 faculty members, KazNU boasts a diverse array of more than 600 undergraduate and graduate programs across disciplines such as medicine, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and engineering.
