Overview

The lack of any specialty hospitals in rural Davangere often had people going to Bangalore and Belgaum seeking special treatment. Also the NH4 passing by Davangere was the site of many traffic accidents, necessitating immediate medical care. SSIMS&RC was set up with the vision of being a Stage 4 referral hospital, and a Central Regional Hospital that takes care of the medical needs of the geographical area.
