In the process of training for an STCW certificate of in possession of a COC - Deck (STCW Regulation II/1, II/2, II/3) or Engine (STCW Regulation III/1,III/2,III/3). The Nautical Institute considers Alternative Marine Vocational Qualifications on a case to case basis.

Course Outline: Principles of DP, Elements of the DP system, Practical operation of the DP system, Position reference systems, Environment sensors and ancillary equipment, Power generation, supply and propulsion, DP operations.
Target Audience:Those following the Nautical Institute approved training programme for Dynamic Positioning Operators or shore based personnel requiring a theoretical introduction to dynamic positioning.
Certificate:Nautical Institute approved certificate of attendance.
